I am Villain

by Tyler Minton

I wake up. Every morning is the same. Day in and day out, the same breakfast prepares me for the day to come. I go to work. I open up the garage door of the warehouse I call work. A warehouse filled with the smell of hard work and determination that always resides in a gym where true work is done. My place of work frees me from the social chains of post it notes, business meetings, and lunchrooms. I eat. My every meal is important, for it must sustain my body for what I will later put it through. Tupperware bowls and gallon water jugs are the fine china of guys like me- Humble, hard working, do-it-yourself kind of guys. I condition. Every lift, throw, slam, or sprint, prepares and conditions my body and my mind, preparing me further for the life I have chosen. For me, there is no place for weakness. Words like quit, cheat, or slow down will not become familiar to my mind, for my heart will not allow them in. I eat. Again I eat, for my body will need it. I read. I study the brilliance of those hard workers before me who laid out the paths that I have now taken. No television can teach me what I can learn from books. I work. My day never changes. One more rep! Almost done! Finish! These words fill the “business meetings” between me and my clientele. I eat. One more meal before my work REALLY begins. I enter my world. A world of blood, sweat, and tears. A world where aggression and physical assault are not only welcomed, but expected. I enter the world that I call home. A world free from the restraints of proper society and normal behavior. In my world, I am feared and respected by many. In my world, my hard work, effort, and daily adherence to a strict lifestyle pays off. In my world, every minute of work contributes to bettering a skill, form, or ability. In my world, I know that I will suffer pain, and be forced to inflict it upon others. In my world, I may never be fully appreciated for my hard work, but that doesn’t matter. All that matters is that all my preparation and hard work will do its duty. When I step into the cage, everything will pay off. Every meal, workout, and training session will combine to create the warrior that I must become. This is my life. I am a fighter. I am VILLAIN!

Thanks for another great post. This is great inspiration. Those of us who choose to live honestly in a world of disingenuous frauds are in a constant fight to hold on to our dignity and protect what we love most. Thanks Tyler for adding more fuel to my fire.
