Villain A to Z: Action

Dude, what are you waiting for?

This series will illustrate twenty-six words: attributes, characteristics, or themes that one who embodies the “modern villain” mentality and lives an effective, passionate, congruent life demonstrates. Some will be more politically correct than others, but all represent important pieces of the puzzle that is the quintessential villainous male. Enjoy.

Willingness to act separates the villain from the rest of the pack.

Newton taught us that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Action produces result. Inaction produces nothing but perhaps disappointment and regret.

The winner forces the world around him to react.

No one ever blocked their way to victory. A perfect game is impossible without a run scored.

Action, and subsequent flexibility in approach are the two most significant components in any recipe for success and greatness.

Deliberation and worry have no place on this list.

Winners have created a habit of moving forward in an effort to produce the outcomes that they seek.

Winners do not fail. Winners produce outcomes different than desired at times, sometimes consistently for periods of time, but that is precisely what separates them from those who stand still and let the stronger people around them dictate how fulfilled they are allowed to be that day.

The winning team understands that if you are going to fall, it is better to fall forward.

The modern villain starts the fire. He asks the girl out. He makes the moves.

He doesn’t play the “Where do you want to eat?” ,“I don’t know, where do you want to eat?” game for ten minutes with a girl (who deep down wants him to take charge).

He doesn’t post up hoping to get noticed.

When appropriate he throws the one and only knockout blow of the altercation.

He spends no time wondering what if. Instead he invests the majority of his time creating his life around him in a manner that is fulfilling, rewarding, and full of the things that bring him happiness and excitement.

Without action there can be no reaction. Without that we are simply objects at rest waiting to be acted upon by an outside force (Newton’s my boy tonight).

Act.
